FAQ's

What types of payments do you accept?

We accept most major credit and debit cards as well as Paypal, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay.  If you wish to make a payment via bank transfer (BACS), please contact us by email at hello@bluejeanbabyjewellery.com.

Do you reserve items?

We're happy to reserve an item for up to 30 days with an upfront, non-refundable deposit of 20%. Please email hello@bluejeanbabyjewellery.com to arrange or enquire.

 Do you offer layaway?

We do!  Our instalment plan requires a non-refundable deposit of 20% and the balance must be paid in full over a three-month period.

How is my payment secured?

For your safety and security, we use Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) to process our payments.  We don't have access to your banking details.

Does my order come boxed?

All jewellery bought through our website will come beautifully presented in a Blue Jean Baby box tied with a ribbon.  Our boxes are made from 100% recycled paper.

When will my item arrive?

All deliveries within mainland UK are sent by guaranteed special delivery free of charge.  

All international orders are delivered by DHL Express.  International shipments will typically be with you in 2-5 working days.

Are you able to resize rings?

Please get in touch to discuss your options if you see a ring you love but it's not your size.  We're happy to advise on your options.  We do offer a re-sizing service, however we always recommend viewing the ring before committing to any alterations and/or visiting your local jeweller to ensure you get the right fit.  Estimates for re-sizings are based on an individual basis, as costs differ depending on the materials, style, and work required.  Some rings aren't suitable for resizing due to their construction or age.  

Please note we do not offer any returns or exchanges on rings we have had re-sized at your request, nor do we accept refunds or exchanges of rings sold that have been re-sized or altered in any way by third parties.

Do you offer jewellery valuations/certificates?

Yes, we work in partnership with a trusted third party gemologist and jewellery valuation specialist.  Some of our pieces above a certain price point come with a pre-sale certificate of authenticity that states identity, composition, and condition.  For pieces that do not come with this, we are happy to arrange this for you.  Please get in touch for more details at hello@bluejeanbabyjewellery.com.

How do I know if my item is genuine?

Blue Jean Baby has a trusted network of professional, reputable, and experienced jewellery dealers from whom we purchase most of our stock.  All items are inspected thoroughly before they're listed on our website and carefully assessed to gain as much insight as possible on each piece. 

We evaluate the hallmarks on each piece, which tell us about metals used, dates, and locations.  Some very old or foreign pieces have no hallmarks, so we rely on further testing, stylistic assessments, intensive research, and on our third party partners who help to verify authenticity of some pieces when required.

We evaluate materials, construction techniques, hallmarks, signatures, and cultural context of each piece.

We carefully check the condition of each piece for any notable damage or cause for any potential repair.  

All of our diamonds are genuine earth-mined unless clearly stated otherwise.

In the event there is any doubt over the provenance or dating of an item the said item will always be referred to an independent jewellery valuer prior to the item being made available for sale.  

While we cannot guarantee the exact age and provenance of each piece, we  determine to the best of our ability when it was manufactured, what materials have been used, and during which era it was designed.
