These Whitby Jet earrings from the Victorian era are big and bold and worthy of their statement-making status! This pair is carved geometrically around its oval edges and etched delicately to the centre with a distinctive motif. They are secured with silver shepherd hooks secured onto a Jet loop.
Whitby Jet became popular during the Victorian era when Queen Victoria made it fashionable. Whitby Jet is a fossilised wood found in the coastal town of Whitby in North Yorkshire, England, a type of hard black coal that was formed from the remains of ancient Araucaria trees approximately 180 million years ago. Its distinctive properties include its intense black colour, smooth texture, and ability to be intricately carved, making it an ideal material for crafting distinctive jewellery.

If you wish to return an item, please notify us via email within 3 days of receipt of item at hello@bluejeanbabyjewellery.com and send the item back to us within 14 days of receipt for a full refund. Please include your name, order details and reason for the return.
Please return your item via guaranteed special delivery with insurance and tracking to ensure it gets back to us safely. We cannot provide a refund for any items which are sent back to us by uninsured or non-recorded delivery if they become lost or damaged in transit.
All items must be returned in the condition in which they were originally shipped and packaged to be eligible for a refund.
Please be aware that once a ring has been resized or altered, it's no longer eligible for return. This is also applicable to rings that we have resized on your behalf before shipping.
Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping and responsible for the item until it arrives safely back to us.
Sale items and gift cards are not eligible for return.
International Returns
Please clearly mark the package as "UK RETURNED GOODS" to avoid additional charges.
As well as sending your item via a tracked and insured service it's also important to mark the package with the correct information to avoid any unnecessary delays or fees through customs.
Please note that international import tax/duty charges are not refunded for shipments outside the UK.
Any import fees, taxes, or postal charges incurred by Blue Jean Baby Antique Jewellery due to incorrect labelling will be deducted from the customer's refund.
Layaways
If an item is purchased on layaway then a 15% restocking fee will be retained in case of cancellation or return.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. Upon approval, we will refund you the full purchase price of the item/s within 48 hours (or two working days) of receipt, via the mode or payment used in the original purchase. If paid via credit card, please allow 5-10 working days for the processed refund to show up on your statement, depending on your issuing bank.
you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
